Historique
Samuel Angus Macdonald was born on 28 June 1870. He married Bessie Maud Wonnocott on 31 May 1897. They had two sons, J. Gordon and Sandy A. In July of 1895 Samuel A. MacDonald opened a custom tailoring shop on Queen Street in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Through the years the business expanded to become a department store offering not only men's clothing and furnishings but dry goods, ladies clothing, millinery, carpets and rugs. Although S.A. MacDonald died in 1934, the family business continued until the early 1960s when it made way for the Metropolitan Stores of Canada..
