Biographical history

Brenton Wood was born on 10 February 1894, the son of George Wood and Martha Hatley of Tryon, Prince Edward Island. On 1 November 1922 he married Ruth Hester Boulter, daughter of Webster Boulter and Margaret Elizabeth Holmes. Brent operated a general store in Crapaud. He was also an historian and spent considerable time, particularly in his retirement years, gathering and recording local history and genealogical information. This led to the publication of his "Family history". Mr. Wood died on 23 October 1987 and was buried in the Tryon Peoples Cemetery.

Custodial history

Scope and content

This fonds consists of research notes, correspondence, and photocopies of secondary sources relating to families and local institutions of the Tryon/Crapaud area. They are arranged in alphabetical sequence by family name or subject. As many of the families are interrelated, files may contain information about more than the family cited.
