Biographical history

Robert A. Gordon was born, and lived most of his life in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. The son of Douglas Gordon and Annie MacSween, Robert had one sister, Beatrice Perrin, of Malden, Massachusetts. Robert was a member of the Mount Lebanon Masonic Lodge in Summerside. He was secretary of the Lodge in 1923, served as "Master" in 1925, and attained "High Honor of Grand Master of Prince Edward Island" in 1932. He died in Montreal, Quebec, on the 15 September 1982.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of information relating to the Masonic movement on Prince Edward Island. Included are photos and histories concerning Mason lodges in Charlottetown, Port Hill, Crapaud, Stanley Bridge, Kensington, St. Eleanors, Summerside, O'Leary, and Malpegue. The fonds also contains books concerning the movement in Maine, Ireland, and Nova Scotia as well as general information about the masons.
