Biographical history
Born in 1912, Clare W. was the second son of Dr. and Mrs. E. T. Tanton of St. Leonard, Prince Edward Island. Like his father , E. T. Tanton, who had graduated from McGill University Medical School in 1908, Clare, as well as his two brothers, were all medical practitioners. A native of Summerside, Claire married Madeline (?), and had three children: Jennifer, Janice, and Philip. Dr. Clare Tanton died in Bellville, Ontario, on the 24 February 1988.

The fonds consists of a medical account book of Clare W. Tanton for 1949. This book contains daily documentation of his patients from the Summerside area, their aliments, and amount of money received and due for services rendered.
