This series consists of diaries and daybooks kept by various members of the Macdonald family from 1886 to 1876, 1906, and 1946. The diaries consists of daybook entries documenting the weather, activities of family members, events in the community, and the comings and goings of family and friends. Many of the diaries are unidentified, however some have been attributed to Archibald J. Macdonald, his wife Marion Murphy Macdonald, and J. Howard Macdonald. Some of the earlier diaries may have belonged to Catherine Macdonald, wife of Hugh Macdonald.
