Biographical history

Ella Blanche Clark was born on 6 October 1861, daughter of George and Margaret Clark of Lot 37, Prince Edward Island. Ella married Charlottetown bond clerk Wallace Leitch (20 December 1854 - 21 November 1914) in Covehead on 5 October 1881 and subsequently moved with him to Charlottetown. They had a son, Roy, born 9 November 1884. Ella died on 5 February 1914.

The collection consists of five letters written to Ella Clark between 13 February 1877 and 31 October 1878. The letters were written by Ella Clark's friends and family from Prince Edward Island, including Bruce Leitch, W. D. Coffin, and Alfred Clarke. Topics discussed include social news and Methodist Sabbath Schools.
