Scope and content

The fonds consists of correspondence to Maurice Donovan, insurance agent in Georgetown, Prince Edward Island, regarding insurance policies of individuals, businesses and institutions in that area. The letters are primarily from D. B. Stewart & Co. in Charlottetown, general agent for the Queen Insurance Company and cover the years 1932-1941. A few earlier letters are addressed to one T. E. Morrissey, presumably Donovan's predecessor as agent for D. B. Stewart. The fonds also contains a bound Insurance plan of Georgetown, P.E.I., 1918, rev. to 1937 issued by the Underwriters' Survey Bureau Limited.
