Biographical history

On 13 November 1950 a meeting was held at Prince of Wales College, in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, by several previous members of the Royal Canadian Air force to organize an R.C.A.F. association. In December of that year the national body issued a charter for the R.C.A.F. Association No. 201 (Confederation) Wing which was also charged with the responsibility for the No. 60 Air Cadet Squadron which had been formed in 1841. Letters patent under the "Companies Act" were issued in 1954 citing the purposes of fostering a spirit of fellowship among former members of the RCAF, supporting all components and perpetuating the tradition of the RCAF, and carrying on other philanthropic, charitable and social work. A womens auxiliary was formed on 4 November 1954 and the association played host to the national convention in 1964.
