Biographical history
The Springvale Womens Institute was organized on 3 July 1946 at the Springvale School when twenty ladies of the district met with the Prince Edward Island Womens Institute supervisor, Miss MacDonald.

The fonds contians the minutes of the Springvale Womens Institute from 3 July 1946 to 14 September 1993. Minute books also contain membership lists, lists of officers, and rollcall as well as annual reports to the Department of Agriculture and some financial records.
