Eleanor DesRoches est atteinte de la tuberculose après 1930 et a dû passer un an au sanitorium à Charlottetown. Dans sa petite maison, elle a passé plusieurs années de bienfaisance avant de prendre domicile au Villa, foyer pour les personnes âgées.
