Bernard, Albénie. Soldat de guerre et fermier. Saint-Philippe (Île-du-Prince-Édouard), 5 mai 1907 - . Fils d'Azade Bernard et Madeleine Arsenault; marié le 26 juin 1946 à Irène Cormier, fille de Benoît Cormier et Délina Arsenault; père de Sylvia, Paul, Roland, Denis (adopté) et Vincent; frère de Philippe, Émilien, Julitte, Antonin, Edmond, Jean-Honoré, Joseph, Cyprien, Marie-Anne, Emmanuel, Denise, et François; aïeuls paternels : Joseph Bernard et Balthilde Gallant; aïeuls maternels : Philippe Arsenault et Julitte Arsenault. Avant de s'enrôler dans l'armée, Albénie Bernard travaillait pour Murray & Gregory Lumber Company à Saint-Jean (Nouveau-Brunswick). Après son mariage, Albénie Bernard s'est installé sur une ferme à Saint-Timothée, pour quelques temps, avant de déménager à Dieppe avec sa famille. À Dieppe, il travaillait pour les Forces canadiennes au hangar no 5, expédition et recette. Le fonds offre un portrait de l'expérience d'un soldat canadien sur les champs de bataille en Europe pendant la deuxième Guerre mondiale. Le fonds comprend un manuscrit de 22 pages intitulé The Way I Remember Those Years 1942-1945 écrit par Albénie Bernard, un Acadien de Saint-Philippe (Île-du-Prince-Édouard) qui a servi dans les Forces armées canadiennes de 1942 à 1945. Le manuscrit comprend cinq chapitres intitulés Enlistment and Training in Canada - 1942, First Trip Overseas (Forestry Corps) - 1943, Second Trip Overseas (Front Lines) - (North Nova Scotia Highlanders) - 1944, End of War - 1945, Waiting to go Back Home.
